The Fungus and Plant Natural Products Laboratory (EPlaNaProLab) is a research laboratory located at the Department of Chemistry, Higher Teacher Training College, University of Yaounde 1 whose activities are focused on the search for bioactive secondary metabolites from natural resources, in particular plants and fungi. It is subdivided into two research sections, the first of which is oriented towards phytochemistry and the second towards microbiology. Our research approach is based on the bio screening of these resources, follow by the bio-guided fractionation to identify active resources and to isolate new compounds with potential for the treatment of infectious diseases. Researchers working in our group develop skills in analytical chemistry, spectroscopy/spectrometry, and organic chemistry.

We strive to maintain a vibrant, collegial, diverse, and energetic research group. If you are interested in joining our team as a collaborator, visiting scientist, postdoctoral scientist, or student, do not hesitate to contact us.
